Air Quality Update Summer 2026

We know many families are seeing news coverage about wildfires and air quality across Ontario. It’s important to know that Muskoka Woods is located more than 900 kilometres from Thunder Bay, and air quality conditions can vary significantly from one region of the province to another.

The safety of our guests and staff is always our highest priority.

While we do our very best to keep all activities running as planned, weather conditions – including rain and changes in air quality – can sometimes require adjustments.

We monitor local conditions using the Government of Canada’s Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) and work closely with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to make informed decisions.

If the local AQHI reaches levels that indicate a higher health risk, we may:

  • Reduce or modify strenuous outdoor activities.
  • Move programs indoors when appropriate.
  • Encourage guests and staff to spend more time in air-conditioned / HEPA equipped buildings.

All Cabins Equipped With HEPA Air Filtration

All guest cabins at Muskoka Woods are equipped with air conditioning and HEPA air filtration, providing filtered air throughout the night.

We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and make adjustments whenever necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
