What is WILD?
WILD is our overnight summer camp program for children ages 6-8.
It introduces younger campers to independence, friendship, adventure, and personal growth in a safe, highly supported environment.
Every part of WILD is built specifically for this age group:
Smaller cabin groups
Higher staff-to-camper ratios
Age-appropriate activities
Structured daily rhythms
Intentional care for first-time campers

Why WILD Is Different
- Help campers navigate homesickness
- Build confidence gradually
- Create belonging quickly
- Support first-time overnight experiences
For many children, this is their first time away from home. We treat that step with care.
A Typical Day in WILD
The schedule below is an example of what a week is like in WILD. Each guest will get to participate in a similar schedule that varies for each cabin. Activities may be different than you see here.
Structure creates security for younger campers.
A typical day includes:
- Cabin wake-up and morning routine
- Breakfast with their cabin group
- Morning activity block (waterfront, ropes, creative arts, team games)
- Lunch
- Rest and recharge time
- Afternoon activity block
- Dinner
- Evening program (section wide games, theme nights, campfire)
- Cabin wind-down and bedtime

Safety, Care, and Communication
WILD campers are supported by:
- Carefully selected and trained staff
- Leadership supervision and oversight
- On-site medical care (with both doctors and nurses)
- Structured cabin environments
- Clear communication policies
Homesickness is normal. Our staff are trained to help children process it in healthy ways by supporting growth rather than immediately removing them from the experience.
Parents may contact our office if needed, and our team will help facilitate communication appropriately.
Our goal is to balance independence with reassurance.
Frequently Asked Questions About WILD
What ages is WILD for?
WILD is designed for children ages 6-8.
Is 6 too young for overnight camp?
Some children are ready at six; others are not. WILD is structured specifically for younger campers and provides high levels of support to help first-time campers thrive.
What if my child gets homesick?
Homesickness is common, especially during the first day or two. Our staff are trained to respond with care and encouragement. Most campers move through homesickness and finish the week feeling proud of themselves. Before camp, staff participate in a full week of training.

Standard WILD sessions are one week long.
What is the Test Drive option?
Test Drive is a 3-night version of WILD designed for new families who want to try overnight camp before committing to a full week. See More about Test Drive
Can Test Drive campers stay longer?
If space allows and your child is thriving, families may have the option to extend to a full week.
